SEARHC Holds Cervical Health Awareness Event

January 17 2014

SITKA – The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) WISEWOMAN Women’s Health Program is sponsoring an informational event about cervical health awareness and what every woman needs to know about preventing cervical cancer on Wednesday, January 22, from noon to 3pm at the SEARHC Litehouse.

January is Cervical Health Awareness Month, and that’s the perfect time to schedule your women’s health screenings. Regular Pap tests give health providers a chance to notice changes in the cervix before they become cervical cancer.

If you are age 30 or over, your healthcare provider may recommend that you have an HPV test along with your Pap.

Stop by the SEARHC Litehouse to learn more about cervical health and to see if you may qualify for a FREE women’s health screening.

For more information about this event, please call Loretta Coleman at 966-8819.
