SEARHC celebrates one year of Hoonah clinic management

October 14 2010

Last year, the Hoonah Indian Association (HIA) asked the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) to replace HIA in managing the Hoonah clinic. SEARHC and HIA invite Hoonah community members to a celebration of the first year of SEARHC’s management of the Hoonah Health Center at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall in Hoonah. Since assuming management, SEARHC has expanded the number of health care services available in Hoonah while also working on plans to build a new clinic to replace the current facility. During the celebration, SEARHC will update Hoonah community members on the plans for the new clinic and additional services that will become available. Hoonah residents are encouraged to bring their questions and comments to the celebration. For more information about the celebration, please call the SEARHC Hoonah Health Center at 945-2756.
