HAINES – The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Adam McMahan for the Haines Health Center. He will be filling a position that became vacant when Dr. Noble Anderson transferred to Ethel Lund Medical Center in Juneau and will begin seeing patients there in early August.
Dr. McMahan comes to SEARHC from the Providence Family Medicine Center in Anchorage and enjoys the full spectrum of Family Medicine. His special interests include rural emergency and preventative medicine, pediatrics, and palliative care. He says, “My wife Emily, son Finn, and I are looking forward to joining and serving the communities of Haines and Klukwan.”
He earned his undergraduate degree in Social Medicine from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and completed his residency at Alaska Family Medicine in Anchorage. During medical school and residency, he received family medicine training at sites ranging from Providence and the Alaska Native Medical Center to Bethel and Anaktuvuk Pass.
SEARHC Haines Health Center Administrator, Marcia Scott said, "We are excited that Dr. McMahan is joining our care team. We look forward to improving continuity of care to our patients with the addition of Dr. McMahan as a full time physician."
