Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital welcomes 2011’s first baby

Landon Matthew LaDuke was the first baby of 2011 born at the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) S’áxt’ Hít Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka. Landon was born at 3:23 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011. His parents are Haley Burkhart and Jake LaDuke of Sitka. Landon weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces, and he was 21 inches long at birth. Dr. Mack Owen was the attending physician, while Landon was delievered by Dr. David Barnes and Dr. William LeMaire of SEARHC Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital. Landon is his parents’ first child. His grandparents are Will and Erin Burkhart of Sitka, and Bob LaDuke of Eagle River and Julieanne Stroemer of Sitka. As the first baby of the new year born at Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital, Landon and his parents will receive several special gifts from local businesses. The donated gifts include a variety of baby supplies and numerous gift certificates.
