Home dental screenings for Klawock/POW elders

April 12 2010

SEARHC Dental Health Aide Therapist Dan Kennedy — who works at the Alicia Roberts Medical Center (ARMC) in Klawock — and ARMC dental assistant Chelsie Hobart will offer a dental outreach clinic for elders at their homes from 1-4 p.m. on Friday, April 23. The dental screenings will be performed on a periodic basis, and Dan hopes to make this a regular event on Fridays. Please check with him to find out when the next home visits for elders are scheduled. Dan and Chelsie will make a presentation about dental care for elders, and they will offer some dental services such as oral screenings and ultrasonic denture cleaning while they are at each elder’s home. These regular oral health screenings will help Klawock/POW elders learn if they have any further dental needs, so they can schedule a full dental examination. For more information about the oral health screenings and to schedule a home visit, contact Dan Kennedy at ARMC, 755-4990.
