Ethel Lund Medical Center hires Dr. Kennon Kirk

The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) Ethel Lund Medical Center recently hired John K. “Kennon” Kirk, MD, as a family physician. Dr. Kirk earned his medical doctorate from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va. He completed a residency in family medicine with North Colorado Family Medicine in Greeley, Colo. Dr. Kirk is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. “We are very pleased to have Dr. Kirk join our medical staff here at the Ethel Lund Medical Center,” said Dr. Janice Sheufelt, MD, SEARHC Ethel Lund Medical Center Clinic Administrator/Medical Director. “Dr. Kirk will provide comprehensive medical to patients of all ages, including obstetrics. He will be a welcome addition to SEARHC.” Dr. Kirk’s special medical interests include obstetrics, newborns, pediatrics, hospital work, procedures and family planning. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, running, travel, Barbara Kingsolver novels, folk music and fresh seafood. “I am excited about starting work here and excited to learn all about Southeast Alaska,” Dr. Kirk said.
