SEARHC Patients Have Access to Radiation Oncology Close to Home

JUNEAU – The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is pleased to announce that SEARHC patients that require radiation as part of their cancer treatment will be able to remain close to home. Through a partnership with Southeast Radiation Oncology Center in Juneau, patients will no longer need to travel as far as Anchorage or Seattle to receive radiation, making treatment more convenient, more comfortable and more cost effective.    [Read more]

Healthcare Enrollment Events in Sitka

SITKA – Now is the time to apply for affordable health care coverage if you currently do not have health insurance. You may be eligible for lower cost insurance based on your income, age, and number of people in your family. The Affordable Care Act deadline for required insurance coverage is March 31, 2014. Those that do not have health insurance in place by that date must be eligible for and file an exemption form or face a tax penalty in 2015.     [Read more]

SEARHC Introduces After Hours Nurse Triage Line Phase II

JUNEAU – SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is pleased to introduce Phase II of its After Hours Nurse Triage Line in Haines, Klukwan, and Pelican on April 1, 2014. The After Hours Nurse Triage Line is a free resource that allows SEARHC patients to obtain healthcare information and triaging services when the local clinic is not open. The service is available exclusively to patients of SEARHC and began in Kake, Angoon, Hoonah, and Prince of Wales Island at the end of February, and will come on line in Juneau at the end of April; making reliable health information provided by Registered Nurses just a phone call away.     [Read more]

SEARHC hires Director of Practice Management

JUNEAU – SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is pleased to announce that Eric Gettis will be joining the organization as the new Director of Practice Management beginning January 13, 2014. As the Director of Practice Management, Mr. Gettis will be working side by side with Dr. Sheufelt, SEARHC’s new Primary Care Clinics Medical Director. Together they will be managing the operations of sixteen medical practices. He will lead improvement efforts, front end office processes, appointment scheduling, registration, health information management, provider schedule optimization, customer service, and quality monitoring.     [Read more]
