American Heart Association's Fit-Friendly Worksite Gold Achievement seal

SEARHC received the annual Fit Friendly Worksite Gold Achievement Seal on April 1, 2014 from the American Heart Association.

101 Alaska Native/American Indian Preference

In accordance with Public Law 93-638, SEARHC practices Alaska Native/American Indian hiring preference. Public law 93-638, Section 7(b) states that any contract, subcontract, grant, or sub-grant pursuant to this Act or any other Act authorizing Federal contracts with or grants to tribal organizations or for the benefit of Alaska Natives/American Indians shall require that, to the greatest extent feasible, preference and opportunities for training and employment in connection with the administration of such contracts or grants shall be given to Alaska Natives/American Indians.

Employee Benefits

Group Health Insurance
Employees have the choice of 15 medical plans offered through the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) and we encourage you to review all the plan information and choose the FEHB plan that is the best fit for you and your family. SEARHC pays 72% of the premiums through the Federal Employee Health Benefits program.

Supplemental Dental & Vision Insurance
Employees have the choice to purchase Dental & Vision Insurance through Guardian. These plans have self & family, along with a basic and a buy up option. SEARHC pays 72% of the premium.

Life Insurance 
SEARHC provides 2 times your annual salary up to $300,000 with a minimum amount of $20,000, a $1,000 policy for spouse and children included, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, and Long Term Disability paid by employer. Employees have the opportunity to purchase supplemental life insurance for self, spouse and children.

Tax Sheltered Annuity
403(b) matching up to 5% match for your retirement. Employees can place up to $17,500 in 2014 and if over 50, $23,000 into the Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA). SEARHC matches between 1%-5%.

Holidays
Eight holidays - New Years, Elizabeth Peratrovich Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Alaska Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. These holidays are built into the PTO structure outlined below.

Leave 
Benefit eligible employees can earn and use paid time off (PTO) as described below. PTO can be used for vacation, illness or injury, holidays, and/or personal business. Eligible employees begin to accrue PTO upon date of hire.

The PTO accrual rate for an employee is based on the type of position held by the employee and their length of employment, with the rates being adjusted on the anniversary of the employee's most recent date of becoming benefit eligible, in most instances, the employee’s hire date.

Benefited non-exempt and exempt support level employees will fall into Tier I above. These positions include, but are not limited to: Certified Nursing Assistants, Dental Assistants, Maintenance Technicians, Patient Access Representatives, Administrative Assistants, Health Information Technicians, Senior HR Managers, and Program Managers.

Regular non-exempt and exempt paraprofessionals and Division Director level employees will fall into Tier II above. These positions include, but are not limited to: Registered Nurses, License Practical Nurses, Licensed Dispensing Opticians, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Respiratory Therapists, Radiologic Technologists, Surgical Technologists, Medical Technologists, Pharmacists, Dietitians, Dental Hygienists, Behavioral Health Clinicians, Social Services (if license required), Mental Health Therapists, positions that require RN or RD licensure, and Division Directors.
