DUTIES: **ALL SHIFTS** The OSS Nurse performs a variety of nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments, and ability to work independently in completing assignments. Provides nursing care to individuals of all ages and their families, including post-surgical as well as OB patients. The nurse should be proficient in obstetric care, including the antepartum, laboring stages, postpartum, and newborn baby care. The position entails some after-hours on-call services, nights, holidays and weekends. On-call responds to all emergencies including trauma and fetal distress. C-sections include total peri-operative nursing care. Guidelines include physician's orders, standards of care, nursing policies and procedures manuals, hospital policies. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (BSN, Associate degree in nursing or Diploma in nursing) One year of general acute care experience following the completion of nursing program. Prior experience in OB is preferred; if minimal OB experience and training is required, a two year commitment will be required. A valid, full and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska. Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP. Must be able to obtain ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 6 months of hire date. For full position description call Human Resources at 907-966-8497.
