Grants to SEARHC beneficiaries for unmet health needs
Challenge
There are SEARHC beneficiaries that have unmet medical needs, as a result of the increasing costs of health care, and diminishing funding. What can SEARHC do to help meet the unmet medical needs of the clients we serve?
Solution
The SEARHC Board of Directors had the vision to create a new corporation, The Healing Hand Foundation. It is a totally separate non-profit corporation designed to provide avenues through which charitable funds can be secured to meet these unmet needs. The Healing Hand Foundation makes financial contributions directly to SEARHC, who then disburses funds to qualifying beneficiaries. The creation of the Healing Hand Foundation is an example of a Native organization empowering itself to do something for its own membership—a trend that is growing within Native communities and organizations across this country.
Targeted areas
At SEARHC's request the Healing Hand Foundation is currently targeting three specific areas of beneficiary needs:
- Durable Medical Goods
- Pharmaceuticals
- Patient Travel
Grants to beneficiaries
If you, as a SEARHC beneficiary, have a specific unmet medical need in any of these three areas please consider filling out an application and allowing us the opportunity to consider helping you.
